Szabo's Dumpster Dive

(Icecream Sunday: Milk, Sugar, Vanilla, Banana, Peanuts, Cacao)

Today I had an exciting day of riffling through the dumpsters in the back of a strip mall for my next meal.  I find the flavors to be much richer and the textures more interesting.  Today, I was knee deep in the freezing dumpster outside of an icecream shop when I found a perfect half-eaten banana split in an old shoe.  The perfect meal to hold me over until my date with dead deer next to my cardboard box.

As I was pondering what life choices I made that got me to this despair, I remembered the one class that started it all.  AP World history with Mr. Benschine.  Ever since the Columbian Exchange extra credit project, my grades just tanked.  Because I couldn't answer where Cacao came from, I never got into college.  Now before every meal I try to figure out what my measly entree is made of, and where it came from.

The Ice Cream itself is made from milk, sugar, and vanilla.  The sugar derives from the sugar cane and the milk comes from cows, both of which are from the old world. The vanilla, however, comes from the new world!  How riveting.  The bananas were were also from the old world, but these bananas looked like they came from the expired section of the abandoned produce store that I'm currently living behind.  The nuts on top may be peanuts, which come from the new world, or  may be ants that crawled into the icecream, died and then crystalized.  Finally that dreaded chocolate sauce.  Chocolate... CACAO!!!  The same accursed food that led me to become the vagrant I am today.  But I'm MUCH more intelligent now.  The cacao is from .  .  . THE OLD WORLD!!!... No wait... definitely the new world... nevermind.

Until the next time I can sneak into this families home and "borrow" their computer,
I Remain,
